Ana in Greece- INTERESTING FACTS

Having lived in Greece now for almost four years, I have done my own research about the country. I researched some fun facts about Greece before we moved (I wanted to know some stuff about the country I would be living in!). I was surprised to find that some of the facts were actually kind of interesting. These are some of the things I found out.

-Greece is one of the favorite tourist destinations. At least 12 million tourists come in each year.

-No part of Greece is more than 85 miles from the sea.
-The national anthem contains 158 verses, and no one has ever memorized them all.
-Ancient AND modern Greeks believe in Gods.
-In Ancient Greece, tossing an apple to a girl was a traditional way of proposing.
-Married women could be put to death for watching the Olympics in Ancient Greece.
-Greece is one of the oldest nations in Europe- It is 2,500 years old.
These are just a few of the facts that I found about Greece. After reading these, I knew a little bit more about Greece, so I hope you do too!

I hope you enjoyed reading them!
