Austria has a really pretty landscape. The photo I've added is of a small town called St. Gilgen, right near the Alps. The Alps mostly run through the south and west of Austria, usually covered in snow and amazing for taking pictures, whether you visit the area often (I do!) or are just stopping by. Hiking is really common, of course. Most people will take hiking trips or go on picnics on the weekends in Austria.
Most people live in the east, though, as the lands are generally flat with hills scattered about. The main river of Austria, the Danube, runs right through my city (Vienna).
The mountains and rivers of Austria are very beautiful, as is Austria itself. I love vacations to the alps, and towns nearby (like Salzburg) with beautiful scenery.
