Admont Monastery in Austria
Hi again! During the weekend, my family and I visited Admont Monastery. It is about 250 kilometers, or 155 miles, from my house. It was the most beautiful building I had ever seen! It is a mixture of baroque architecture and contemporary style.
Inside, there are over one hundred artists' exhibitions like sculptures, ceiling frescos, architecture, and written and printed pieces. There are also over 70,000 restored books in its library, too! Admont Monastery was founded by Archbishop Gebhard of Salzburg in 1074 but it wasn't completely finished until 1776, so it's been around for a really long time! The church is at the center of the monastery and it ministers twenty-six parishes. In, the monastery is also a modern museum. I'm so glad I was able to go see the monastery. Here's a photo of the inside. It's beautiful, right?
