Lunch Time!

Ciao Everyone!

Today was a half day in school, so everyone got out at noon! To celebrate, my family and I went to my Aunt Giada's house for lunch. My Aunt Giada is a cuoco meravigliosa!(wonderful cook!) In Italy, lunch is everyone's main meal of the day. We eat a light breakfast, then our lunch is very importante (important). We do this so our dinner will be light and not extremely filling.

Anyway, my Aunt Giada cooked us her famous pasta cremosa (creamy pasta). It is bowtie pasta with peas, chopped carrots, heavy cream, and mascarpone cheese. Mascarpone cheese is like creamed cheese, but it has a different consistency. I like it very much. We also had her roasted chicken as well. It was molto delizioso! (very yummy!) We had slices of bread and cheese on the side. She even fried some vegetables for us. They were also molto delizioso! Then for dessert, she served us some fresh cut fruit with whipped cream on top. :-)

I can now say that my belly is estremamente completo! (extremely full!) Marco and Ermanno might disagree however. They are still rumaging around the kitchen looking for more dessert. I do not understand how they can eat so much! My mother calls them "non finisce mai bidoni della spazzatura" (never-ending garbage cans). :-) I think the name suits them perfectly.
