Music

Austria's very famous for its musical history. It's really a big part of our culture, so I thought I'd share more about that today. Vienna's even considered Europe's musical capital. My parents especially love all the cultural festivals and events concerning Austria's music, so I've come to really like it a lot, too. There are countless events like this throughout the country, especially in Vienna. I'll give you a few examples! These are some of the ones really well-known in Europe:

Vienna Festival, which focuses on music along with dance and theatre. It lasts five weeks. I usually go with family and a few friends, since it's in our hometown.

The Salzburg Festival, held in Salzburg (of course), has a lot of opera and concerts, and also celebrates Mozart, who was born there. This is a really great description of it that I've heard:
"During the annual Salzburg Festival, the entire city becomes a stage."
I've been to this festival a few times too. It's really a wonderful culteral experience and an amazing way to spend a few nights.
