My Countries Mythology (Hungarian Mythology)

In Hungarian Mythology there are three worlds, the upper world, middle world, and underworld. In the Upper world resides the gods and good souls. The main god's name is God but in Hungarian its Isten. In the middle world resided the humans and many mythical creatures. Many of the mythical creatures that lived there were mermaids, witches, Wizards, Dragons, Goblins, Dwarfs, Giants, and Fairies. Then in the underworld lives Evil spirits and Ordog, the devil. Ordog created everything bad for humans, including fleas, lice, and ticks. The religion in Hungary when this mythology took place was very shamanistic and was common in slavic countries. Many of the stories from this time made many modern fairy tales. Speaking of Fairies they were the most well liked mythical creature because they were friendly towards children and would often help lost people find their way back home if lost. Fairies were also said to bring gifts for humans who treated them nicely. On the other hand the Dragon was often the most hated because it would take maidens and terrorize villages. Hungarian Mythology has set a bases for many modern stories and is a very happy and also scary part of our history.
